Air New Zealand - is the only comprehensive provider of air travel connections to both major and smaller destinations in New Zealand, and worldwide. The New Zealand government is the majority shareholder of this national airline.
Other operators provide services for specific destinations or where there is more demand.
Jetstar - a low cost carrier providing flights between key New Zealand cities, and to eastern Australian cities (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane & Gold Coast).
Qantas - Australia's national airline, flies key New Zealand domestic routes (Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch), and international.
Other international carriers - Several global carriers operate specific routes through Auckland International Airport.
