Funded Settlement Services

In addition to the national Settlement Support New Zealand (SSNZ) network, Immigration New Zealand also funds a number of programmes targeting specific areas.

Services offered include English language tuition, information on buying and renting homes, tax and business information, and general information about the cost of living in New Zealand.

Here are brief outlines and links to the activities we support.

Auckland Chamber of Commerce
New Kiwis website. For matching your skills with employers' needs; employment seminars, workshops and one-on-one job-seeking sessions when required.

Auckland Regional Migrant Resource Centre (ARMS)
Clear point of contact for settlement information in the Auckland region.

Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce
Connecting Canterbury Employers and Newcomer Skills Programme is a job search and placement support programme for skilled migrants and refugees. They provide one-on-one case management with job seekers aimed at linking skills and work experience with employers.

Chinese New Settlers Services Trust
Bi-lingual support for Chinese and Korean newcomers in Auckland. CNSST runs five multi-service centres providing bi-lingual programmes, seminars, and one-on-one case management to meet the settlement needs of local Chinese migrant community.

Citizens Advice Bureau
Multi-lingual advice on many typical issues, for example legal or financial issues, housing or vehicle problems, education.

Refugee Services
Refugee resettlement services including housing, ESOL tuition, social services, education, health and employment.

Relationship Services
Counselling advice for migrants on the Relationship Services website

Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce
WECC provides training on the New Zealand Business environment and skills that will help newcomers integrate into the workplace. WECC also run the Wellington Regional Newcomers Skills Matching Programme, which provides employment assistance for recent migrants to New Zealand.
